History Teacher, Whitley Bay

We have a fantastic opportunity through Exact Education for a year’s contract at a school in North Tyneside to start in September covering a maternity. If you are an ECT, the school are open to contributing to your ECT year. It will be full time to KS4.

The role will require:

* A passion for engaging students through a sound History subject knowledge.

* An ability to plan and deliver exciting and innovative lessons up to KS4.

* Someone who can fit in well with the school and work to create good relationships with staff and students.

To apply for this role, you must:

Have experience teaching History in a secondary environment.
Have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or be working towards it, or another relevant teaching qualification.

Main Areas of Responsibilities
To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor
To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
To contribute to raising standards of student attainment
To share and support the academy’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth

Qualifications & Experience
QTS
Strong subject knowledge with the ability to teach engaging, informative, and challenging lessons.
A passion for education and for allowing young people to become the best possible versions of themselves.
Be able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff.
Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students
Have good written and spoken communication skills.
Be able to lead and manage their own work effectively.
Enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude.
