Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Work

SEND teaching and support roles are a regular supply requirement in both mainstream schools and special schools across the north east.

Support work in special schools are usually long term assignments as it is important to have consistency for the pupil or group of pupils you are working with but there can be day-to-day requirements too. The most important asset for people working in SEND is having a positive attitude. Having some experience within the sector is great, however we tend to find the schools just want their workers to be eager to learn as every school is different with their own working methods. There are a wide range of disabilities and special education needs within special schools, your skill set as a supply worker could suit some or all of them. You can contact our SEND department for more information and to get started!
